Practice the real thing
before it's the real thing.

A live, 1-on-1 mock interview with me. We run it like a real panel. I ask the questions you'll actually be asked. Then we stop and I tell you — honestly — what's working, what's not, and exactly what to change before interview day.

Amanda Kay MSN CRNA - mock CRNA school interview coaching

Reading about interviews isn't the same as sitting in one.

You can read every blog post, watch every YouTube video, and write out perfect answers in a notebook — and then sit down in front of a panel and watch all of it evaporate. The first time you say your "why CRNA" answer out loud should not be the day it counts.

A mock interview is the bridge between studying and performing. It's the difference between knowing the material and being able to deliver it under pressure, on the clock, with someone watching.

This isn't a friend asking you generic questions over coffee. I've sat on both sides of these interviews. I know what panels listen for, what makes them lean in, and what makes them quietly write you off in the first ninety seconds. That's what we work on together — not just whether your answer is correct, but whether it lands.

How the session works

1

Pre-session intake

You tell me which schools you're interviewing at, what their format is (panel, one-on-one, MMI, Kira video), and where you feel weakest. I tailor the session to that.

2

The mock interview

We run the format you'll face. I ask you the questions you'll actually get. You answer. I don't interrupt — we let it play out like the real thing.

3

The debrief

This is where the value lives. We go answer by answer. What worked, what didn't, what to rephrase, what to cut, what to add, what your face is doing when you don't realize it.

What you walk away with

  • A real performance benchmark. You'll know, concretely, where you are vs. where you need to be — not based on how you feel, based on how you actually sound.
  • Specific rewrites for your weakest answers. Not "be more confident." Real edits, in your own words, that you can rehearse before the real thing.
  • The "why CRNA" and "why this school" treatment. These two questions decide more interviews than people realize. We spend real time on them.
  • Clinical question practice. If your interview includes clinical scenarios, we work them. If it doesn't, we use the time on what does matter.
  • Coaching on the things you can't see. Filler words, pacing, eye contact, the way your shoulders move when you're nervous. The stuff a friend won't tell you.

Who books a Mock Interview

Three kinds of people, mostly. People who've never interviewed for grad school before and want to know what it actually feels like. People who interviewed somewhere already and didn't get in — they know something went wrong but they can't pinpoint what. And people who already have one acceptance under their belt and want to lock in another one at their top-choice school.

All three benefit.

The Bundle is the studying. The Mock is the test run.

The Interview Prep Bundle teaches you the frameworks. The Mock Interview is where you find out if you can actually deliver them under pressure. Most people who book both do the Bundle first, then schedule the Mock about 7-10 days before their real interview. That gives them time to fix what we identify together.

If you're already in the Bundle or the full Roadmap, your Mock is $105 instead of $175 — about 40% off.

In their own words

What the mock unlocked.

"I'd been rejected twice. After my mock with Amanda I finally understood why — I was answering questions I wasn't being asked. She caught it in the first ten minutes. Third application cycle: accepted, top-choice program."

"The most useful 90 minutes I spent on the entire application. The Bundle was great prep but the mock was where everything became real. Amanda is direct without being harsh — she tells you what to fix and exactly how."
B.R. · current NAR
"I booked two sessions and used them a week apart. By the second one Amanda was saying 'this is interview-ready.' That was the confidence I needed walking in. Got the call three days after."

The honest questions

FAQ.

How do I schedule my mock interview?

After you purchase send me an email at info@themindfulcrna.com with the subject line: "Mock scheduling". Include your interview date if you have one and availability and I'll get back to you ASAP.

How long is the session?

Plan for 60-90 minutes total: a focused mock followed by a real debrief. The exact split depends on your school's format — if you're interviewing for an MMI, we use the time differently than if it's a 30-minute panel.

Is it on Zoom or in-person?

Zoom. That's actually closer to how most CRNA interviews happen now anyway — most panels run virtually post-2020.

When should I book it?

Most people book 1-2 weeks before their real interview. Close enough that the feedback is fresh; far enough out that you have time to actually apply the changes. If you only have a few days, the session still helps — but a week+ is the sweet spot.

What's the $105 discount?

If you're already in the Roadmap to CRNA School ($297) or the Interview Prep Bundle ($100), your Mock Interview is $105 instead of $175 — a $70 savings. The discount link is inside both of those products.

What's the two-session deal?

$300 for two sessions (instead of $350 for two singles). Most people who book two do one early in their prep to identify what to work on, and one closer to the interview to fine-tune. Some people use the second one for a different school's format.

Do I need the Interview Prep Bundle first?

No, but most people get more out of the mock if they've worked through the Bundle first — the Bundle gives you frameworks to apply; the mock is where you apply them. If you book the mock cold, we'll still get value, we'll just spend more session time on basics that the Bundle could have covered for $100.

What if I have to reschedule?

Reach out before your scheduled time and we'll find another slot. Life happens.

What if it's not what I hoped for?

Tell me. We'll talk it through. This is one-on-one work — refunds on live coaching are case-by-case but I want every client walking away having gotten what they needed.
